Hi all, I'm new to the online group.
I am requesting information on two things:

1) Need a good shop in St. Louis to get a Dyno on my car, what can i expect to pay?
2) Need a couple of options for Indy shops to either install Supersprint Headers and/or an ESS Supercharger kit?

Any certain shops everyone goes to that are reasonable, experienced with these types of mods and will give you extra insight about what they are doing?

These mods will be for a 2000 M5.

Eurotrix Tuning has a Dyno and is very experienced with mods on Euros/Exotics. They handle everything from Ferraris to BMWs to Drag cars. They're down near Union Missouri, but they offer a pick-up and drop off service. Their shop rate is very reasonable too. To be honest, they'd probably consider your mods to be pretty mild :) The owner has a Porsche 928 with an LT1 installed.

Thanks - looks like I might give Eurotrix a try - the car service will be a huge help. I first need to replace a couple of CPS intake sensors and get my car to a no-SES code state (it's been a while).

What is the opinion of Reid Vann for basic maintenance service? I have used Bavarian Enterprises up on Olive for years, but I am ready to find a new local Indy that is easier to communicate with. I always feel like I am a "bother" at Bavarian, but they do good work and the price is right.

I'd stick with Eurotrix. Jon Rhodes owns Eurotrix and was the main guy at Reid Vann for many years. Jon is one of the good guys in the auto service industry. He can take care of any maintenance needs you may have.

I've had a hard time getting a hold of someone at Eurotrix - but will keep trying. Is there another shop that is reliable for service and mods? What is the opinion of Bimmers R US? Are they expensive?

Reid Vann told me they don't do aftermarket modifications.

I'm open to ideas.

Thanks

Jon has been busy, if you leave a message he will get back to you. Keep trying it is worth it, he does excellent work and gives the club a break on labor. if you leave a message be sure to mention you are a club member.

John LeClair at Bavarian is really a nice guy, but he is quite aloof. I totally understand it's not the customer's job to adapt to the business, but that's what you have to do with him. Anyway, I found the best and most effective way to work with John is to compile a typed/written list for him - this really puts a smile on his face. He will not deal with A/M parts, however.

On the dyno, there is a tuner shop at the end of my street called PBJ - Performance by Joe. He has a chassis dyno and is extremely reasonable with the rental. He's a few feet north of the intersection of Hampton and Marquette - 63139. Jon Eye has used him and has nothing but good things to say. I plan to consider dynoing my race car there if NASA accepts that, but I think I will need to do it at EuroTrix to qualify.

Rick Ramsey has a very good friend named Naz who owns a shop called EuroCar at 2553 Link (just south of the 7-11 on Midland). I go there occasionally for certain things I don't feel like dealing with on my own (heater core and subframe bushing replacement). He's very good with BMWs (esp. E30s) and his rate is waaay lower than most indies. (314) 427-5120.

To answer your question about Bimmers R Us, I cannot recommend them personally. Some people use them, but I am not one of them.
