So im looking into buying a 95 vert. my question is i noticed the gray on the lower trim in starting to look a little rough and it is starting to show the original body color threw the gray. Can i safely remove the rest of the gray to show the original body color or can i sand it all down?

http://www.bimmerzone.com/gray.htm

ive seen this link and was wondering if this will fix my probelm.

It is easily removed. I removed mine using an interior brush and a bottle of Superclean (degreaser/parts cleaner). Took me about 45 min to do both sides. Just spray on let sit, agitate, rinse with water. Some areas took some elbow grease but nothing major. Looks tons better than that gray crap.

did it reveal the orignial body paint afterwords or just the bare panel. Did you clear it after the fact, do you have after pics?

It's the full stock paint. The gray was applied as a rock guard coating after the body was fully painted. Just remove and enjoy the non gray goodness.

No, they are a different animal. They need to be repainted.
